Grey wolves have made a comeback since hunting was banned
Swedish hunters have begun culling wolves for the first time in 45 years after parliament ruled that numbers needed to be reduced again.
Nine animals were shot dead in the county of Dalarna on the first day of the cull – a third of the total number to be killed, Swedish radio reports.
Hunters have until 15 February to fill the quota of 27, which will leave Sweden with an estimated 210 wolves.
Some 10,000 hunters were reported to be planning to take part in the hunt.

The Lie
If there is one thing I like about Bees, it is definitely their puke. I love little more than waking up in the morning, toasting a slice of home-made bread, and spreading a glob of bee regurgitation all over it. Something about partially digested pollen just turns my taste buds on. Dear Cecil:
I have heard Thomas Jefferson traded marijuana blends with George Washington and the other founding fathers. I find this hard to believe, but the rumor is ubiquitous. Can anyone verify if it is true or false? I e-mailed the famous Jefferson scholar Clay Jenkins but got no response. However, on his podcast, The Thomas Jefferson Hour, he did admit to donning his Thomas Jefferson impersonation gear and visiting Burning Man. Should I take this as a tacit admission of our third president’s smoking habits?

The popular Germany-based file hosting service RapidShare has allegedly begun handing over user information to record labels looking to pursue illegal file-sharers. The labels appear to be making use of paragraph 101 of German copyright law, which allows content owners to seek a court order to force ISPs to identify users behind specific IP addresses. Though RapidShare does not make IP information public, the company appears to have given the information to at least one label, which took it to an ISP to have the user identified.
