In just a few days, Britain could elect an unprecedented coalition with a mandate for urgently-needed reform and the support of most voters – it’s democracy in action!

But a few partisan hacks want to hang onto politics as usual — and some of them own powerful tabloids. Hacks like billionaire Rupert Murdoch, whose Sun is pushing nasty hysteria about coalition government threatening Biblical disasters — working to ensure that Murdoch, not we voters, is the “kingmaker” in our country.

As if the Liberals didn’t have enough troubles, swashbuckling copyright pirates intend to contest the next federal election.

It’s not a joke, The Pirate Party is currently seeking 500 members – at $20 a piece – so it can become an officially registered party with the Australian Electoral Commission. The party’s constitution is “still in progress”, but its policies will be built on a “serious platform of intellectual property law reform and protection of privacy rights and freedom of speech”.
